Our Story

The Play Mat Kingdom began in 2020 with a simple idea. I wanted to create beautifully designed play mats that inspire children to imagine, explore and tell their own stories.

Every play mat is designed and handcrafted by me here in the UK using high-quality craft cotton. From woodland adventures and magical kingdoms to oceans, dinosaurs and colourful open-ended play, each design is created to spark curiosity and grow with a child's imagination.

Unlike traditional play mats, every design is completely reversible, giving children two beautifully designed worlds to explore in one mat. It's a simple idea that offers twice the adventures while making the most of precious play space.

Safety has always been at the heart of everything I make. Every play mat is fully UKCA tested, so you can enjoy open-ended play with complete peace of mind.

Over the years, the collection has grown and evolved, but one thing has never changed: creating products that encourage children to slow down, become absorbed in play and invent stories of their own.
